Celebrating Hope: Our Monthly Highlights

Our ladies at a graduation celebration for Lindsey and Danielle.

This month has been a whirlwind…in the best way possible. As we gear up for our annual “One Night” fundraiser, we’ve made time to celebrate graduations, our wonderful staff, and recovery.

It's been a source of great inspiration to witness women successfully complete our resident program, and we've been fortunate to witness answered prayers and everyday miracles unfold right before our eyes.

None of these wonderful moments would have been possible without your unwavering support. Whether you are a part of our Hearten House Heroes campaign, generously contribute in-kind gifts, dedicate your time, or offer your prayers for our mission, every contribution and every individual plays an indispensable role in amplifying our impact. Your involvement makes our mission even more profound and meaningful.

Thank you for all that you do!

-Marisa McKenzie, Executive Director

Our annual "One Night" fundraising event is just around the corner

It will take place at The James Cultural Plaza in Downtown Auburn beginning Friday, October 13 and ending Saturday, October 14 at 7 a.m. Registration begins at 4:30 Friday afternoon.

Participants will set up their tents, boxes or whatever else they want to use for their “home” for the night. Then we will come together for worship featuring area church worship bands and musicians. Hearten House graduates, volunteers and staff members will share testimonies and stories. We’ll create memories and build connections as one night becomes a forever imprint on our hearts and minds.

Even if you are not spending the night, we encourage you to come out and visit us on the plaza!

Visit our website to register or sponsor an attendee. Your support is appreciated!

Celebrating our graduates!

Congratulations to Danielle and Lindsey!

Some words from Lindsey: "Before I came to Hearten House I was depressed and selfish. I had no self respect. I was very deep into a meth addiction. Since being at Hearten House, I now take my medication and go through therapy for my depression and anxiety. I finally have a hold on my emotions. I have learned how to love and respect myself. Jesus Christ's love and mercy has gifted me the ability to do that. I also have been blessed from Jesus to no longer have the desire to use meth. I have my life back and a second chance at life with my kids. Thank you Hearten House for giving my a safe place to heal."

Lindsey's Bible Verse: Romans 12:2 - Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed my the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Join us in congratulating Danielle and Lindsey on their recent graduations from Hearten House!

Hearten House Snapshots

From Left to Right: Row One

  • Lindsey and Danielle at their graduation celebration.

  • We ditched out daily routine for a day of kayaking down the Pigeon River for a Hearten House Staff Appreciation Day.  A time of reflection, gratitude, bonding, and team building as we celebrate each other and all that God has done. We are so grateful to have this amazing group of passionate women who show up and bring their best to the table!

From Left to Right: Row Two

  • Celebrating our recovery at the 2023 Recovery Rocks event. This was a great event held in Fort Wayne centered around helping others support one another through loving those with addiction and was hosted by The Mom Of An Addict.

  • We are blessed to witness our amazing women and their different talents. Ms. Cassandra found out that our director loves peacocks so she painted this beautiful picture for Hearten House.

Volunteer Spotlight: Misty Gillian

"I love to volunteer at the Hearten House. When I was asked to lead a bible study at the Hearten House I didn't realize the impact it would have on my life. Watching the Miracle Power of Jesus transform lives right before my eyes in truly a humbling and forever grateful experience. Sharing the life changing Gospel with the women is my passion. I love watching them grow in Christ and acknowledging His love for them no matter their past. Even though I am there to encourage them, they strengthen my walk in the Lord and encourage me to keep fighting the good fight."
